A descriptive class prints the Learner's Progress Report, not the SF9. It is chosen for you: on Class settings it is the only report card layout a Kindergarten to Grade 3 class is offered.
What is on it
- The school header, the learner's name, LRN, grade and section, and the reference code.
- One row per learning area with the descriptor for each term — Advancing, Consistent and so on, written out in words.
- A narrative section, one paragraph per learning area, for the term the card covers. An area with nothing written prints No narrative has been written for this term yet.
- Attendance by term, and the signature lines for you and the school head.
- A line noting that descriptors are the basis of the report, and that any numeric range is an equivalent for transfer purposes only.
What is not on it
No scores, no final grade column, no general average and no promotion status. That is the design of DO 015, s. 2026 for Key Stage 1, not a missing feature — there is no retention on academic grounds at this key stage. The Awards page says the same thing: no academic awards and no rankings here. Recognise effort, participation and growth in the narrative instead.
Releasing it
The same path as any other card: Release cards → Run pre-flight check → release. The pre-flight blocks on learners with no descriptor. Learners with an email get a one-time link; the rest go into the print batch.
Closing the year
There is no year-end recalculation to run. Once the last term's descriptors and narratives are in and the cards are out, roll the class over and archive it from Class settings.
