What it is
Create the sample class, on the getting-started page under Try it on a sample class, builds Grade 7 – Demo Section inside your own account: twenty fictional learners from Alvarez to Tolentino, four subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, MAPEH), three terms, and a full set of Term 1 activities already scored — two quizzes, a seatwork, two performance tasks, two summative tests and a term examination.
If your account is still unverified, you get fifteen learners rather than twenty, because fifteen is the roster limit before verification.
It is a real class, not a screenshot
Every feature works on it. Report cards generate, the pre-flight check runs, awards and rankings compute, and the attendance register has this month and last month marked with a few absences — one learner sits close to the 20% threshold so you can watch that rule do its work. A Term 1 deadline is set a few days out, so the deadline strip has something to show.
Three details are there on purpose, and they are the ones worth finding:
- one learner transferred out, with their scores kept exactly as encoded;
- one excused score, which leaves both totals alone;
- a few cells left empty, which is not the same as a zero and does not compute like one.
It counts against your class limit
The sample takes one class slot — you have one class while your account is unverified, three once it is verified. If you are already at the limit, the button says so and creates nothing: delete a class first, or get your account verified. If you already have a sample class, the same button reads Open the sample class and takes you back to it.
Deleting it
Class settings → Delete class. It takes its roster, subjects, scores and report cards with it, and there is no undo — which is what you want from a class full of invented names. Your real classes are untouched.
