Open the preview
- My classes → your class → Report cards.
- Choose a learner from the roster picker. It searches, so type a surname.
- Choose Through Term 1 — or whichever grading period your class uses — or Year-end, which adds the Final Grade column, the General Average and the promotion status.
The sheet on screen is rendered from the same numbers and the same layout as the PDF. It is stamped PREVIEW — NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION and carries the diagonal watermark: the learner's name, the last four digits of the LRN, the time, and the reference. Nothing on this page is sent to anyone. Release is the only thing that distributes a card.
Write the teacher's comment
Above the sheet is Teacher's comment, for the learner and period you are previewing. It prints in the SF9's Teacher's Comments box for that period.
- Type up to 280 characters — the printed box is small, so the field stops there.
- Save comment, or Ctrl+Enter.
- Next learner without one jumps to the next learner in roster order with a blank comment. The counter beside the label reads "12 of 38 written".
Leaving it blank prints an empty box, which is what the paper form does too.
Print the preview
Print this preview sends the sheet on screen to your printer. It still says PREVIEW, so use it to check the fit on your paper, not to hand out.
What if a grade shows as a dash
A dash means there is no term grade to print for that learning area yet. Three causes: a subject still has missing scores, a component carrying weight has no activity in it, or the grade is still recomputing after an edit. Open Release and read the Before you release panel — it names each one and links to the page that fixes it. Periods after the one you are previewing are blank on purpose. At year-end, a subject with a missing period shows INC, never a guess.
