Why a link stops working
- It expired. A card link works for 30 days from the day it was sent.
- A newer one replaced it. When the adviser resends a card, only the newest link works.
- The release was taken back. If a grade needed correcting, the adviser revokes the release and every link in it stops. New cards go out with a revision number.
- The card is still being made. The page says so rather than failing — wait a few minutes and open it again.
What to do
Ask your class adviser to send it again. On their Release cards page every learner has a row with Resend; if the address was wrong they use Fix and resend, which also corrects the class list. A learner with no address gets the card from the print batch instead.
Nothing is lost when a link dies. The card is made again from the same grades, and the reference code on the new copy tells the school which one is current.
If you have a student account
Report cards also sit on your portal page under Report cards. Those buttons do not expire — they keep working as long as the release stands and, for a learner under 18, consent is still in place.
If nothing shows at all
No card and no grade usually means one of these, and each has its own fix:
- The term has not been released yet. Your adviser releases at the end of a term.
- The account is not linked to any class list — the page says "Not linked to a class yet".
- Your email is not confirmed yet, or a guardian's consent is still waiting.
- Consent was withdrawn, so the account shows nothing. Emailed cards still open.
