How an account gets linked
Two ways, and only two:
- Automatically, when a learner confirms their email address and the same address sits on a class list. The match is on the address alone, and it runs across every class that carries it.
- By hand, when an adviser approves a class-code request on their Learners page and picks which learner it belongs to.
So the usual cause
One email address used by two learners — siblings, most often — or an address typed onto the wrong name on the class list. Either way, one account ends up showing another learner's released grades.
What to do
- Stop opening the card. It is another learner's data.
- Tell the class adviser, naming the email address and the learner the account is showing.
- The adviser corrects the address on their Learners page so each learner carries their own, or none. An address is never required; a learner without one gets a printed card.
- Ask the adviser to message SchoolAide Lite on Facebook with their support reference and the class code so the wrong link is undone. Neither side has a button for that, and the page is answered during business hours with no promised turnaround.
What if
- Two learners share the family's only address. Leave accounts out of it. Ask the adviser to put that address as the guardian's email on both learners; each learner then gets their own card link, to the same inbox.
- Each learner wants their own account. Each account needs its own email address. One address links one account.
- The adviser sees "already linked to a different portal account". That is this same situation seen from their side, and the fix is the same: message support with the support reference and the class code.
- You opened a card that was not yours. Say so when you report it. Every opening is recorded against the account that made it, so it is better told than found.
