A learner who arrives
Learners → Add a learner. They are added to the class and to every subject in it at once, so the subject teachers do not have to type anything.
Activities that ran before they arrived stay blank for them. A blank cell is not recorded: it is left out of both the total scored and the total possible, so it neither helps nor hurts the computed grade. Do not type 0 to fill the gap — a zero is a real score and counts against the total.
A learner who leaves
- Learners → Edit on their row.
- Choose Mark transferred out, or Mark dropped if that is the case.
They stay on the list, greyed, with a status pill. Their cells in the score grid lock, so nothing new can be encoded against them by accident, and every score already there is kept as encoded. They are left out of a release — a release makes one card per active learner — and out of rankings.
Undoing that
Edit → Reinstate puts them back to active and their cells open again on the grid. Nothing was lost in between.
Transferred out is not removed
Remove from roster is a different thing, for someone who should never have been on the list. It takes the learner off the roster and hides their scores with them; nothing is destroyed, and the retention purge is the only thing that deletes for good. If you remove the wrong learner, message us on the Facebook page with your support reference — it can be put back within the retention period.
For a learner who genuinely left the section, mark them transferred out rather than removing them. The class record should still show they were here.
